Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role, she won an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. She was the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was the main character in Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre as only a child. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
